After viewing the RSC Versions of Romeo and Juliet I see the performances and characters in a different light. The humor the actors bring light to the story and movie we are watching witch are intensely dramatic. The narration and transitions are chopper but the viewer is able to keep up with the story easily and follow what is going on without long paragraphs and lines.
I think that the scene performance will be more successful if we have narration because the book is pretty hard to understand so by having a narrator, it will make whatever is going on in the scene clear if there is any confusion. The sample video is showing me that if you need to make a transition in the scene that you present, you can just change what you are wearing or go out of a couple of seconds and then come back in.
After watching this video I'm thinking more about learning how to dig deep into multiple roles at once. These guys showed so much emotion into each different character they played that made it so enjoyable and easy to follow. It also showed me how even though they had a lot of costume changes, you don't need that to convince the audience which character you are.
The videos are very funny and it makes me want to be able to make people laugh because then they actually want to see it and watch. They make it very funny and I think it would be fun to do something like this with all the costumes and all of the people just for fun. It seems like if we can make the play funny and not as depressing I think people would like it more and be a lot more interested with what is going on.
After watching the RSC performance I want to make our performance more like it because it was funny and fun to watch because they make it quick even though it is a very long book. I also liked how they have simple but quick costume changes to show each different characters .
The actors in the RSC Version act out very well. They all play their parts for the scene in a few minutes but get the point across. The actors have a lot of energy which make watching it a lot more interesting and more entertaining. In our scene that we have to act out what I think I will do differently is to have more energy to make the scene seem more fun. Also to have more props to get the point across for what we are doing.
After watching the RSC versions of Romeo and Juliet I realized how in character the actors were. I did not think about changing my play, but I did think about the lines that we will be using. Being in character will be the most important part along with being dramatic.
After viewing this I have been thinking that every person needs to have a distinct things that can make sure that you can distinguish what role each person is playing. While the characters were changing their roles the narrator was saying the background which was good in order to know what was happening. The narrator did a good job telling the story and i liked how he didn't go away while the other people were. The actors were very good and played the role very well
I am thinking more of props and placements for the scene. Showing the scenes with the right words and place to stand that coordinate with the book. The transitions in the video were fast and went along with the story. They changed costumes to represent different people. There was a narrator in the background that would red during transitions. I think that helped for the actors to get changed and ready for the next part.
After viewing the RSC Versions of Romeo and Juliet I would consider to perform my scene differently. I would try to make the scene humorous when it is appropriate. I realized the way they transitioned through the different scenes with a brief narration/description of what happened. While the narrator was describing the scene, the characters changed quickly into the next character they were supposed to play.
After watching this video I see that the actors have characters and add things to their play, including humor. I think my group should add humor and drama to our script.
After viewing RSC perform Romeo and Juliet I do think differently about scene performances because they performed a comedic version of Romeo and Juliet which made me think about how we can make the more dramatic scenes of the play a little less serious. They also finished the entire story of Romeo and Juliet in a short time period which makes me think that it is possible to perform a scene of the play in a short time while making it less dramatic than it seems.
The video shows that no matter what you are saying, you can always make it funny. This can serve as an attention grabber and a comic relief. The video also shows dedication to acting. Good for them.
After viewing RSC of Romeo and Juliet I see that there is room for change in acting and the play. I also see that it is not disrespectful for you to be able to have fun with such a sad story. The sadness was brought to a funny point in which you could still see the story but it was still a new way of looking at it. It was fast but successful and you wish it was longer. Even if you only do one role like Romeo you can get deeply involved in the cast and have a great time with it. You can have fun and still look amazing and props can be fun but still get to the point
After watching the RSC Versions of Romeo and Juliet, i thought that it was funny how that made the depressing story of Romeo and Juliet, funny. I thought that it was very fun to watch. i thought that the play was very easy to follow. I thought that it was great how they made the very dramatic and serious part entertaining.
After watching the performance it makes me want to have a successful scene. In the performance it was really funny and it was really understanding. I want the same thing to happen with my performance because I think it makes it much more interesting for the audience. -Lauren Whittemore
After seeing the Rsc version I do have other good ideas for our play, like making it more humoris because it keeps people interested. I was thinking maybe we would do something with being the different characters all at once because it brings in a very different and good dynamic that is exciting and brings a good humor to the story.
After viewing the RSC Version of Romeo And Juliet, I can see a perspective on Shakespeare novel. The Performance is light and easy to follow, compared to reading where you can get lost very easily.
After watching the RSC version of Romeo and Juliet, I changed the scene performance. I was going to do the fighting scene with Tybalt and Romeo but after watching the different version I wanted to shift towards the party scene where Romeo and Juliet first meet. I switched because i realized it wouldn’t be as fun if we couldn’t fake fight and that it would be funnier if Romeo would try to kiss Juliet as she rejects him. I realized that they had gotten rid of a lot of scenes and a lot of people. It was a lot funnier and more chaotic.
