"It would be wonderful to think that the future is unknown and sort of surprising." - Alan Rickman. Today marks five years after Rickman died. He was one of my favorite actors. I chose this quote because it really is wonderful to no know what it coming next in life.

"im worried that I wasted the best of me on you babe"
This is a lyric from the song Good Days by SZA and I think it connects to an allusion because it is not saying what she lost to that person directly, it is like an indirect or passing reference.

"I want to know have you ever seen the rain", Have You Ever Seen the Rain by The Lumineers. It is kind of like a metaphor because, of course most people have seen rain and this probably has a deeper meaning. It also seems like a rhetorical question in the way that he probably would already know the answer.

One of my favorite song lyrics is "Sharpen your mouth let words come tumbling out" in the song Lucy by Simple Creatures. It exhibits one of our poetry terms because it is something being sharpened that would not ever get sharpened showing a personification.

" only miss the sun when it starts to snow" Let Here Go by Passenger. I don't know if this could really count as a poetry term for this specific term but I would say maybe a bit of personification. It is giving the sun a non human attribute and that is to be missed.

"like a bridge over troubled waters, I will lay me down."
This shows some of the poetic terms we have learned about because it's saying no matter what gets in the way I will be there for you and I put myself up for you and only you. If there is a river to cross I will be there and do it with you. It put a very deep meaning to small words.

I think that music and poetry are very similar in various ways. I think that the specific song lyrics are the most important when relating to a poem. For example "I Love being payed" (S1mba). This lyric in particular is more greedy as you could write about in your poetic manner The tune of the song also can relate to the overall mood of the poem. Overall I think that poetry and music are very similar in many different ways.

"I'll find the things they say just cant be found, I'll share this love I find with everyone"
upside down
by Jack Johnson
this line depicts a slant rhyme which is not a direct rhyme but two words that sound similar none the less

One lyric I found that had poetic devices in it was "I cut so many off, my heart be as December be." Song: Chosen 1 by Polo G. This is a Simile because he is saying his heart is as cold as December.

"Life ain't picture perfect, we use the negatives to develop" on Lord Willin by Logic is a metaphor as if you take it as its literal meaning then you see a line about learning from mistakes, but it also can be taken as developing a photo.

"If you could die and come back to life up for air from the swimming pool you'd kneel down to the dry land kiss the Earth that birthed you gave you tools just to stay alive and make it out when the sun is ruined" Song Pink + White by Frank Ocean. I think this is a strong allegory to some people's almost death experience and how those people or person is thankful that they are alive and that they were saved by the tools that they were given.

Here Comes the Sun (by The Beatles)
"Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it’s all right
Little darling, it’s been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it’s been here"

I chose this because this line can be used as personification and it relates to the sun being alive.

"Fool me once shame on you fool me twice I cant put the blame on you"- logic

I picked this one because its not saying that hes blaming himself but he's saying he cant blame you.

"If you saw a flower bloom in a dark room could you trust it" -Kendrick Lamar

In this he compares himself to a flower. Saying since he grew up in a bad environment would he be trust worthy.

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" -Kelly Clarkson

This is comparing a situation than your currently in compared to the future saying that you just get stronger from hard experiences.
